about
2015-16 were busy touring years for Trout Steak Revival. They toured with Yonder Mountain String Band and also toured to promote their 2015 album, “Brighter Every Day”. Many of the tours ended in Nashville. To get home, they buckled down in their shuttle bus and took turns driving. Steve wrote the first draft of "Going Where" while riding in the bus, driving home from Nashville in anticipation of getting home to Jen; getting home to a place where his sun will rise.
lyrics
Sunlight through the window
Laughter down the hall
Creaking up the staircase
Into your arms I fall
For when I get moving
And make up my mind
The hunger there for you
Is still inside
I’m going where, going where, going where
My sun will rise
I’m going where, going where, going where
My sun will rise
My feet are cold but steady
Like a storm in the sky
Blanketed and heavy
Under my eyes
Nashville back to Denver
Is an 18 hour drive
I’ll be there in the morning
When you rise
I’m going where, going where, going where
My sun will rise
I’m going where, going where, going where
My sun will rise
